Today I witnessed a Miracle

At 12:39 PM April 4th, 2011 Hugh Gunn Dearden passed surrounded by family.

The miracle was that he waited for his children to be at his side, acknowledged them, said their "I Love You's" and then freely moved onto his next stage in progression.

  2. Dear Diane and Family,
Thank you for sharing.....for sharing your thoughts, your struggles, your "wow" Hugh made it to the soccer game! moments, most of all thank you for sharing your vulnerability. You will never be forgotten, you will always be loved and cared for. This is a very sad day for all of us and Hugh can rest in peace knowing that his family will have many angels here on earth surrounding them with love and support. You will be ok. I love you, and send my heartfelt empathy to you, your children and the extended family. xoxoxo:)

  5. Diane,
My thoughts and prayers are and have been with you and your amazing family -- solid and strong. I have notified Conner and Libby's teachers of Hugh's passing and I'm sure they will continue to work with them as they have during the past several weeks. Give the kids a hug for me and let me know what else we can do for you from Butler Middle School's end of things.

    Sincerely,

    Marsha

  13. Diane and family,
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Hugh! I skyped Jessica yesterday and told her the terrible news. She is so devastated and is really concerned about Daren, but knows that he will be comforted by those around him. We pray for the comforting spirit to be with you and your family through this difficult time. We love your family. Daren is like a son to us and we think about him often. Much love to you all!

We all love you guys and want you to know that we are so very sorry for your loss. Hugh is such a great man and as mentioned before, "A quiet giant." Diane, you are my hero - you are such a great example to all of us. You have been so strong and so tender throughout this journey. I can't help but think of the wonderful reunion which occurred yesterday - May the Lords comforting arms wrap around you and give you peace. You are in our prayers. . .

Just wanted you to know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time! We were so sad to hear the news yesterday about your Dad and husband! Although we didn't know him very well, it's apparent that he's just a great guy, and you are a wonderful family!

  17. Dearden Family,
Very sorry for your loss. I got to know your Father through basketball at Brighton. Very good man that supported his son while he played for us. Please let me know if I can do something to help.

    Love to you all

Hugh and I became aquainted several years ago when I was buying billboard advertising. I think it was after our second meeting that we talked for probably 90 minutes and about soccer, baseball and our familiies. It was like that everytime we would get together. I looked forward to our sales appts because I knew what it would be like and that we would laugh and have a great time. I don't have many reps like that. He was a great friend. He certainly loved his family and you are very blessed to have him as a husband and father. We know families are eternal and what you have built as a familiy here will only be enhanced and made even more rich in the life to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

    God bless.
